wild redwoods cleanup

On Thursday Room 4 went up to the redwoods for good old clean up. This was for SVA a.k.a
Student Volunteer Army

The SVA helps out after big accidents like earthquakes. Cleaning up was a good deed, it helped the Te Mata peak trust by moving sticks and picking up rubbish.
Its was a big walk from the car park to the redwoods and it was a bit dangerous especially the slippery wet and tracks. But what a sight awaited us as we stepped of the park and into the massive redwoods. We were working hard for a good half hour and then we stopped for lunch. Next time I would stay a bit longer and do a better and longer job.

skiing in the holidays

in the holidays me and my family went skiing up in Taupo. and met up with my friends family and we went skiing together. It was really fun he was called Ben pringle he goes to te mata school his dad slipped down a whole slop.

science with trish

something i learned with Trish on Tuesday was that the higher sugar level in the liquid goes straight to the bottom of the cup if there are other liquids in the cup.

it was interesting because we did lots of expirimemt and is you do it opposite it will have the same affect and make a rainbow.

i could teach someone how to make a sugar rainbow using science.

the science road show

Yesterday Room 4 went to the science road show it was at Hastings intermediate. My favorite part was the exhibits my favorite exhibit was the one were you got into a pink carton at spun it around witch made I had black and white lines in side of it it made illusion by just staring at the lines going round and round which made you dizzy. I learned that you need heat fuel and oxygen to make a fire.

Parthenon

for our reading group we were reading about an ancient building call the Parthenon and we had to make a building out of marshmallows and spaghetti sticks from the help of some sweet marshmallows to help us on our way Horowitz managed to make this amazing creation first we made a firm base them we made it higher making it stable we made the main building and then we added the roof this is our creation.
